Almost always — we integrate with what your venue already has and add the gear that's missing (extra speakers for a larger room, subs for the dance floor, monitors for the DJ or band). Your venue's existing house PA covers the ceremony; the reception usually needs more headroom. We flag trouble spots in a quick walkthrough and itemize exactly what's ours vs. the venue's in the proposal.
A DJ brings their own controller and needs a clean stereo feed from our PA, plus a monitor for the DJ booth. A live band needs mic inputs for vocals, DI boxes for instruments, monitor wedges or IEMs, and a separate live mix at FOH. Pricing reflects which side of that line you're on — a live-band wedding is a more complex audio day, usually quoted at the full-day or premium tier.
Outdoor ceremonies need weather-rated speakers, longer cable runs (or wireless), and either a battery system or a confirmed power drop near the altar. Wind is the main audio problem outdoors, so we usually add an extra speaker or two for even coverage and bring backup cabling. Lead time and setup are longer — quoted as such, not as a flat indoor rate.
We work out an indoor-swap protocol before wedding day — even if your ceremony is planned for outdoors. That means a same-day walkthrough of the indoor space, a staging area for the backup setup, and a written call-tree for who decides when to move. If we can't describe this protocol in the first call, we'll put it in the contract so it isn't a surprise.
DFW peak wedding season (April, May, September, October) books out 4–6 months ahead for full-day coverage; off-peak dates often have 6–8 weeks of lead time available. The earlier you reach out, the more options for crew, gear, and timeline — even if your date is flexible.
